Black Crusade: Tome of Decay
As some of you may already know, I've been doing some artwork for Fantasy Flight Games over the past 1 1/2 years. Although Tome of Decay wasn't the first title I worked on, it was the first to be released.
So here are a few pieces I had the pleasure of creating in honour of my favourite Chaos god, Grandfather Nurgle.

Amazing stuff again... Do you draw digitally or do you use pens and pencils?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Alexander Man. :)
DeleteI do all my sketching in pencils (as in this case) or inks, then scan it and paint in Photoshop. For a lot of my personal work I go all traditional with watercolours and/or acrylics.
Fantastic work, sir! You're a massive inspiration and definitley a favourite Artist of mine.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for your kind words, Jordan!
DeleteIt's awesome to hear that I can offer some inspiration. :)
Wonderful work, they just oooze that grimy Nurgle flavour (appropriately).
ReplyDeleteI have all four of the Tomes on my want list... Who knows, yule is not that far away... Maybe I'll be curled up with the chaos gods this Winter :)
Thanks heaps, mate! :)
DeleteI was fortunate enough to receive a contributor copy of the Nurgle tome. Now I just have to save a bit more to buy the others.
Wow! Impressive stuff and the gig is truly well deserved.
ReplyDeleteReally dig Jeff Goldblum and the fatso. Very cool characters.
The larger scene is a bit weaker - the composition is a bit off and theres a certain lack of depth. Scenes are hard - trust me, I´ve got the same problem...
Thanks for your comment, Jeff... and especially for the honest critique (my favourite kind). :)
DeleteI know what you mean about the scene, and I can see it clearly now that some time has passed.
I think my plan for the picture was a bit too ambitious, considering the scope of the commission, and it shows.
